iOS app privacy

You can learn without creating an account. Your learner profile, answers, progress, settings, and speaking-practice recordings stay on your device. The app has no advertising tools, usage analytics, cross-app tracking, or automatic copying of your learning record to an online account.

Network requests are limited to approved teaching audio, Apple StoreKit, links or email you choose to open, and services provided by Apple as part of iOS.

The data controller is Shanghai Zehengce Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. (seller name Aipule, 爱普乐), registered in Shanghai, China. For privacy or support questions, emailsupport@hearmandarin.com.

• What the app keeps: a random learner identifier, learning events, review timing, lesson positions, goals, settings, and local safety copies created during backup import.
• Where it is kept: in the app's private storage on this iPhone or iPad.
• What we receive: nothing from this learning record. The app does not silently upload it or copy it to our servers.
• How to remove it: deleting the app removes its learning record, settings, downloaded audio, and local safety copies.

A learning backup file is created only after you choose Export my learning backup. Apple's system save sheet lets you choose its destination. That destination may be local storage, iCloud Drive, or another provider you have enabled; HearMandarin neither selects nor controls it.

Exported files are outside the app's private storage. Deleting the app does not delete copies you saved elsewhere. A backup does not include purchases or microphone recordings.

• Recording begins only after you press the record control and grant microphone permission.
• A recording can last up to 30 seconds and is stored temporarily on the device so you can play it back.
• The app deletes it when you leave the practice screen, switch to another prompt, or the app is no longer active.
• It is not uploaded, transcribed, shared, or retained as learning evidence. The app does not judge or grade how well you pronounced the line.

The text catalog and the first listening lesson are bundled with the app. Other approved teaching recordings may be requested from audio.hearmandarin.com when you play or explicitly download them. The app checks the delivered file's size and digital fingerprint before using it, then may save the verified file on your device for later playback.

As with any internet request, the network and delivery provider receives the IP address, requested file path, request time, and basic connection information needed to deliver and secure the file. HearMandarin does not attach your learner identifier, answers, progress, advertising identifier, or contact details to an audio request, and does not use delivery logs for advertising or cross-app tracking.

In this release, new teaching packages arrive through App Store app updates. The app does not upload learning data to look for content updates.

The app can add word-catalog entries to the Spotlight search list on your device and provides shortcuts that open the Today or Library screen. These features do not send your learning history to HearMandarin. Their operation is governed by your iOS settings and Apple's privacy terms.

In-app purchases and restores use Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment and may provide the app with a verified transaction, product identifier, purchase status, revocation status, and ownership type so the app can unlock or remove the entitlement. HearMandarin does not receive your card number.

The lifetime purchase supports Apple Family Sharing where Apple makes it available. Apple determines family membership and whether a shared entitlement is available to a device. Purchase history, billing, refunds, and Family Sharing are subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy.

The app opens web links, Apple's purchase-support service, and email in system services or apps you choose. Those destinations receive the information normally sent by your browser or mail service and follow their own privacy policies.

If you email support@hearmandarin.com, we receive the email address, message, and any details or attachments you decide to include. We use them to answer the request and maintain necessary support records. Please do not attach a voice recording unless you intentionally want us to receive it.

HearMandarin is made for adult self-learners and is not directed at children. The app does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has sent information to support, contact us and we will review and delete it where legally permitted.

• Use the app without an account.
• Decline microphone permission and continue without recording.
• Export your learning record through the system save sheet.
• Delete the app to remove its local data; separately delete any backup you saved elsewhere.
• Manage Spotlight, Siri, microphone access, Family Sharing, purchases, and subscriptions in Apple's settings and services.
• Email support@hearmandarin.com to ask about support information you previously sent, including access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

If a future app version changes what data leaves the device, this page will be updated before or with that release. Material changes will be described in the App Store release information or in the app when appropriate.
