What the app adds
- Say it back and hear yourself. Record up to thirty seconds on a line and play it straight back against the voice that read it. The recording stays on the device and the app deletes it when you leave the screen. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing gets a score.
- The whole sound library, offline. Download the recordings band by band and keep going on a plane, in a subway, or anywhere with one bar of signal.
- Any word from the home screen. The app puts the word catalogue into Spotlight, so a search on your phone lands on the entry. Shortcuts open Today or the Library in one tap.
- No account, nothing uploaded. Your answers, your review timing and your settings live in the app's own storage on that device. Deleting the app takes them with it.
- Made for iPad too. On the bigger screen the library and the word you are reading sit side by side instead of one behind the other.
Two separate purchases
The website and the app are sold in different shops, so each one carries its own key. A Pro licence bought here opens this website. A purchase inside the app opens the app. Neither one opens the other, and there is nothing to transfer between them.
Both are a single payment in the same price band, and neither is a subscription.
If you learn mostly on an iPhone or an iPad, get the app. Everything on this site stays free through Band 4, and you can keep using it in the browser either way.
